- Mrs. Rebecca Hunt
Death at 9:3- last night claimed Mrs. Rebecca Hunt the final summons calling at her home 221 Court street after an extended illness. Mrs. Hunt who was the widow of S. Hunt was 69 years of age.
She underwent an operations for cancer in the early spring and rallied but three weeks ago took a change for the worse. Blood poisoning developed and later gangerene set in causing death.
Mrs. Hunt came to Portsmouth with her family many years ago from Kentucky.
She is survived by four children, Orville and Zona of this city and Thomas and Caryle of Greenup county, Ky. The deceased also leaves three brothers, Jack Hunt of near Harrisonville and Thomas and Will Hunt of Kentucky
Mrs. Hunt was converted in the Baptist church in Kentucky some years before coming to Portsmouth.
The funeral will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. J.E. Dibert in charge. Burial in Greenlawn.
