Lewis Roberts, 89, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1926 to Guy and Lissie Roberts of Armstrong (deceased). He had one brother, Edward Roberts, also deceased.
Lewis was married to Ruth (Gilkison) Roberts (deceased) on Nov. 30, 1947. They had three children, Glen (Linda) Roberts, Carl Roberts (deceased) and Kathy Martens; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lewis served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946. He was part of the Combat Engineers in the Philippines. Lewis retired from Kraft Foods in 1988 after 25 1/2 years.
Prior to working at Kraft he farmed, worked at Testa Motor Sales in Georgetown, Westville Motor Sales and Prillaman hardware in Potomac.
Lewis was a member of Northwest Christian Church and attended Webber Street Christian Church when he could.
