    Wade Hampton, 74, a resident of LaBelle died at his home yesterday afternoon. He had lived there for the past 65 years.
    Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Olive L. Hampton, LaBelle; four daughters, Mrs. Bill Wimberly, Madison, Fla., Mrs. Marie Peers, Clewiston, Mrs. C.B. Sollay, Jennings, La., Mrs. Edwin Hammond, Reform, Ala; sister, Mrs. Clyde Helms, Miss Nettie Hampton, LaBelle; brother, L.A. Hampton, Imperial, Calif.; five grandchildren.
    He was a member of Carlson Memorial Methodist Church of LaBelle. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Leo W. Engelhardt Funeral Home.

    LaBelle, Oct. 9 – Mr. and Mrs. Wade Hampton announce the marriage of their daughter, Mrs. Lucille Williamson to Louis E. (Bill) Wimberly, which took place Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Lee Street Baptist Church, Valdosta, Ga., the Rev. A.C. Pyle, pastor emeritus officiating.
    The bride is a native of LaBelle, graduate of LaBelle High School and Florida State College for Woman, Tallahassee, now Florida State University. She is third grade teacher in LaBelle elementary. Mr. Wimberly is a native of Madison, graduate of Madison High, served with the army in World War II and is engaged in business in Madison where Mrs. Wimberly will join him at the close of the school year.

She was born in LaBelle and moved here in 1996 from Clewiston, where she was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Clewiston Garden Club. She was a former elementary school teacher and member of the Hendry County Retired Teachers Association. She taught Sunday school, was in the Women’s Society of Christian Service and participated in Bible study groups. Survivors include two daughters, Karen P. Amundrud, St. Petersburg, and Suzanne Moore, Elberton, Ga.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Gee& Sorensen Funeral Home and Cremation Services, St. Petersburg.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Florence "Billie" Emma Hampton Sollay, 92, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Brady officiating.

    Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

    Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., today, Friday, May 18, 2012; and noon Saturday until time of services.

    Mrs. Sollay died at 2:40 am, Thursday, May 17, 2012 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

    Mrs. Sollay was a native of LaBelle, Florida and a graduate of LaBelle High School class of 1939. She enjoyed her childhood, where she grew up with family friends Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. She is a direct descendent of General Wade Hampton. During her childhood she enjoyed spending time in her mother's silent movie theatres and her father's orange groves. Mrs. Sollay was a resident of Jennings 65 years. She taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was a member. She was a President of Entre Nous, the Business and Professional Women, and the Jennings Music Club; member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Miss MacDill Field at the end of World War II; and was a professional model in New York.

    Survivors include one daughter, Alta Sollay Baker and husband John of Lake Arthur; one son, Allister Carey Sollay of Jennings; grandchildren, Victoria Baker Flores of Lafayette, Fonda Laney, Carey Sollay, Virginia Soutiere; great-grandchildren, John Baker Flores; Grace, Elizabeth and John Wilson Laney; and caregiver, Sandra Sonnier.

    Mrs. Sollay is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Wade and Olive Lee Hedges Hampton; her husband, Carey Beecher Sollay; three sisters, Marie Peers, Mable Hammond, Lucille Wimberly; and one brother, Tommy Hampton.

    Little Thomas Wade Hampton, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Hampton, age 16 months, died at the home of Mrs. Lottie Langford in Fort Myers Sunday. Many friends extend their deepest sympathy. The funeral service was held at the Englehardt and Sons Funeral home at 2:30 o’clock Monday afternoon. Pallbearers were Edward Bronson, Julius Moon, Woodrow Parson and Edward market.
