    R.C. Bagley Passed Away In Kirksville
    Roy Curtis Bagley was born at Purdin, Misouri, April 22, 1895, the eldest of eight children born to the late Charles S. and Anna Hedges Bagley. His mother survives him. He passed away at a Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri, November 14, 1957 at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 23 days.
    “Curt” as he was known to all his friends, was reared on a farm northeast of Purdin, Missouri, in which community he spent his entire life.
    He was united in marriage on May 19, 1918 to Edna Ann Foster. To this union four children were born: Margaret McCollum, of Denver, Colo.; Charles, who preceded him in death; Clarice Ruppert, Nokomis, Ill, and Carolyn Helms, New Boston, Mo.
    In his early manhood he served his country in the U.S. Infantry during World War I, and worked at the Purdin Mercantile Co., prior to entering his lifetime occupation as a farmer.
    He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife of the home; his mother at Purdin, Mo.; three daughters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McCollum, Denver, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ruppert, Nokomis, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Curt Helms, New Boston, Mo.; ten grandchildren, Rozanne, Karen, Lois, Clidena, Evan and Joyce McCollum; Allen, Phyllis and Jimmie Ruppert, and Max Helms.
    One sister, Mrs. Opal Buckman, Linneus, Mo.; five brothers: Raymond, of Meadville; Chester and Leslie, of Kirksville; Alva, of Shelbina, and Wayne, of Nokomis, Ill; a great number of nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
    He was affiliated with the Church of Christ in Purdin, Mo., in August 1919, and was baptized by J.C. Roady, a well known evangelistic minister of faith. Curt remained faithful to his church and served in numerous capacities, for the eight or nine years as one of its Elders.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, November 17, 1957, at 2 p.m., conducted by Evangelist James Burgess of Kansas City, at the Church of Christ in Purdin. Song service was by James Calhoun, Rev. and Mrs. Al Mitchener and Mrs. J.W. Grice, who sang, God Will Wipe Away All Tears, and God Will Take Care of You.
    Flower girls were nieces, Marilea Johnston, Phyllis, Richards, Nellie Harris, Bertie Schweizer, Susan, Janet, Carolyn Ann and Kathryn Bagley, Patty and Marcia Foster, Annette Myers and Lorraine Smith.
    Pallbearers were nephews, John, Ronald, Dale, Larry and Roger Bagley and Donald Buckman.
    Honorary Pallbearers were members of his Sunday School class, ray Pulliam, Brooks and Willis Buckman, R.D. Cassity, George Jenkins, Garfield Hill, Quinn Guyer and Clair Shipp.
    Interment was made in the Purdin cemetery under the direction of Brothers & Wright Funeral Directors.

    Charles Fletcher Bagley
    Charles Fletcher Bagley, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Curtis Bagley, was born August 17, 1921, and passed away January 14, 1932, age ten years, five months and three days. Charles leaves to mourn his departure his mother and father, three sisters, Margaret, Claire and Wilma, besides a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ, Purdin, Missouri by Rev. Ralph Acree, Sunday, January 17th at two o’clock. Burial was in Purdin cemetery.

    "Margaret Elaine McCollum was born May 10, 1920, near Purdin, MO, to Curt and Edna Bagley. She passed away May 5, 2003, in her home in Gilbert, AZ.

    She married Clyde Russell McCollum on June 2, 1940. She spent many years serving her six children while simultaneously assisting her husband in a variety of entrepreneurial ventures. Their family moved from Missouri to Colorado in 1954. Margaret had a professional career with the Air Force Finance and Accounting Office in Denver and worked in the office of the governor. Upon her retirement in 1984, she and her husband served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mission Valley, Iowa. She had been an active member of her church since 1966 and had given thousands of hours of service to her family and community. She had lived in Arizona since 1994 and most recently in the home of her daughter, Joyce Brinton and her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Clyde McCollum, in January 2000.

    Her six children survive her: Rozanne DeShazer, Karen Bujaci, Lois Hill, Dena Applegate, Evan McCollum and Joyce Brinton. Her two sisters, Clarice Rupert and Carolyn Helms, 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, also survive her.

    Margaret will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her."

    Wilma Carolyn, daughter of Roy Curtis and Edna (Foster)Bagley, was born August 25, 1926 in Purdin. On August 18. 1946, she married Curt Helms, he preceded her in death on January 21, 1994.

    Mrs. Helms worked at Stanbury Uniforms in Brookfield until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and playing the guitar. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Purdin.

    Survivors include one son, Max (Jan) Helms of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Brett ( Kristy)Helms of Hallsville, Mo. and Brooke Helms of Chillicothe; three great grandchildren, McKenzie Helms and Kason Helms of Hallsvile, Mo and Hagan Atchison of Chillicothe' one sister, Clarice (Milton) Ruppert of Nokomis, Illinois and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Charles Bagley, and one sister, Margaret McCollum.
