    Lee Ellis Hedges was born June 8, 1910 to John W. and Ona M. Hedges and departed this life Feb 5, 1980.
    He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Locust Valley Baptist Church.
    He was united in marriage to Lelia Mary Cooper April 20, 1929 and to this union three children were born: Mrs. Carmen Lytle, Gale Hedges, and Jerry Hedges.
    He was preceded in death by Lelia, his parents and two brothers.
    On Aug. 29, 1975 he was united in marriage to Georgia Crookshanks.
    He leaves his wife of the home, 3 children, two daughters-in-law Barbara and Janet Hedges, a son-in-law Robert Lytle, also a stepson Jerry Crookshanks and wife Dorothy, a stepdaughter-in-law Helen Crookshanks, 12 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, one brother Ivan Hedges and wife Helen, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
    His life was devoted to his family, friends and community and will be missed by all who knew him.
    Funeral service was Thursday, Feb. 7, 1980, 2 p.m. at the Browning United Methodist Church, Rev. Robert Gant, officiated. Soloist was Junius Mundell accompanied by organist, Mrs. Ila Nevins.
    Casket bearers were Ken Neil Jennings, Gail Bailey, J.D. Quigley, Lloyd Garrett, Glen Morris and Fern Keithley.
    Interment was made in Morris Chapel Cemetery direct by the Wade Funeral Home.

Lytle, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Rob & Kelley Lytle, Lee’s Summit, MO; stepson, Robert W. Schmidt, Scottsdale, AZ; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Michael H. Skeens, Kansas City, MO, Carmajean and Troy Pfeifer, Lee’s Summit, MO, and Patricia Lee Lytle, Marshall, MO; brothers, Gale and Jerry Hedges, Browning MO; and seven grandchildren. Arrangements: Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Chapel.

    Gale Allen Hedges, 80, of Browning, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri.
    He was born in September 1931 in Linn County, Missouri, the son of Lee Ellis and Lelia (Cooper) Hedges. Gale is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Hannan. He is also survived by one son, Anthony Hedges of Browning, one daughter, Terri and husband Mark Thomas of Overland Park, Kansas, three grandchildren, Greg Hedges of Columbia, Missouri, Chad and Drew Thomas of Overland Park, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.

    Gale was raised in the Linn County area where he received his education and graduated from the Browning High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was engaged in farming most of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is was a member of the American Legion of Browning. Gale accepted Christ as his savior at the age of 13 years.

    Funeral services were held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Browning United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the Enterprise Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites were held by American Legion Post 228.

    Memorial contributions are suggested to the Enterprise Cemetery.
