Loren O. Pulliam
Funeral services for Loren O. Pulliam, 70-year-old Raytown resident, who died Friday at Park Lane Medical Center, Raytown, were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hinton Funeral Chapel in Raytown. Burial was in the Purdin cemetery. The family suggests contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Pulliam was a shipping and receiving clerk in the mail order department at Montgomery ward and Co., Kansas City, for 35 years before he retired in 1981.
Born in Purdin, he was a son of Ray and Bessie Ross Pulliam. He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II and member of the Church of Christ of Raytown.
Surviving are his wife, Louise, of the home; a daughter, Cindy Lou Fulghum, Dallas, Texas; his mother, Bessie Pulliam, Brookfield, and two sisters, Helen Hedges, Kansas City, and Donna Norvell, Chesterton, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother.

Helen L. Hedges, 77, Kansas City, MO, died Monday, December 2, 1996, at Oakwood Manor. Funeral services will be 9 p.m. [a.m.?] Wednesday, December 4, at Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, in Purdin Cemetery, Purdin, MO. Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
Mrs. Hedges was born August 3, 1919, in Purdin, MO. She was a member of the Red Bridge Church of Christ. She was a lifelong member, teach and active personal worker with the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Ivan J. Hedges; daughter Doris Bouldin, and son-in-law, Joe; son. Larry Hedges, and daughter-in-law, Marcella, all of Kansas City, MO; sister, Donna Norvell, Valpariso, IN; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Arrangements: D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel.

Velma Lee Pulliam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pulliam, was born November 18, 1924 and died November 20th. I spoke a few words in their home from Mathew 18 chapter in the way of funeral discourse. A good gathering of neighbors and friends were present the dear little one was buried at Purdin cemetery on November 21. Thus another family is bereft of their darling babe. C.E. Potter.

Ronald Ray Pulliam, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pulliam, was born July 21, 1927 and passed away at the home August 6, 1932, at 4:30 a.m. Age 5 years and 16 days.

Donna Norvell Bullard, 84, of Valparaiso IN passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Avalon Springs Health Campus with Dunes Hospice providing comfort and care. Born in Purdin, MO on December 13, 1933 to the late Ray and Bessie Pulliam. She was a homemaker, secretary at Duneland School Corp., attended the Vale Church of Christ, loved spiritual music and songs, played the piano, organ and loved to sing. Survived by husband, William Bullard; children, Barry (Brenda) Norvell, Cary Norvell, Sherry (Ed) Praschak; grandchildren, Traci (Rob) Allen, Katarina Praschak at Baylor University, Alexandra Praschak at Purdue University; great-grandson, Carson Allen. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Darrell F. Norvell; siblings, Loren Pulliam and Helen Hedges; grandchild, Heather Norvell.
