Frank was born in Colorado to Benjamin and Nell (Cassity) Herlinger. In March 1934 he married the former Irene Conn in Yuma, AZ. She preceded him in death in 1992. He moved to the Klamath Basin in 1945 after serving with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was employed with Southern Pacific Railroad and Amtrak, retiring in 1987 at the age of 77.
Mr. Herlinger is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Michael Kelly of Tustin, CA, and Patricia and Jack Moore of Modesto, CA; sister Ruth Dial of Alpine, CA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
