    Tarboro – Funeral services were conducted today at 2 p.m. for James C. Liles, 89, who died Monday after a lingering illness.
    The Rev. Robert Baldridge officiated at Carlisle Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
    Mr. Liles was a member of St. James Methodist Church and was a Mason.
    Surviving are a son, James M. Liles of Washington, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Davis Zumbo of Williamston, Md.; two grandchildren.

    Paul Wilson Liles, 75, of 1603 South Thirteenth Street, will be buried Sunday following funeral services at 3 p.m. at his home, with the Rev. John R. Turner officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Ridout's in charge.
    Mr. Liles, a native of Tarboro, N.C., died early Friday at his residence. Shortly after he was graduated from Duke University, he went to work as night operator for the Southern Bell Telephone Company. At the time of his death he was traffic manager, and had been in the employ of the company 36 years.
    Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Bessie Liles; four sons, Paul Liles, of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.; Kenneth, Raieford and Hugh Liles, all of Birmingham; two sisters, Miss Meta Liles, of Boone, N.C., and Miss Nannie Liles, Tarboro; and two brothers, Frank and James Vance Liles, Tarboro.
    Active pallbearers will be H.G. Turner, C.T. Happer, R.L. Seay, W.E. Withers, W.A. Mathews and R.M. Green.

    Middlesex - After an illness of several months following an operation, Mrs. F.E. Finch died at her home here Tuesday. Surviving are her widower and five children: Mesdames Allen Brown of Middlesex and E.C. Bissette of Wendell, Misses Nancy B. and Bertha and Ralph Finch of Middlesex, also the following sisters and brothers, Miss Meta Liles of Salisbury and Miss Nannie Liles, and J.C., J.F. and Vance Liles of Birmingham, Ala.
    Funeral services were conducted Friday by Rev. Mr. Boone of the Methodist Church and interment was in the Middlesex cemetery.

    Former Wilson Attorney Died At Tarboro.

    Tarboro, Dec. 19. – Joseph Franklin Liles, 68, former resident of Wilson county, who died here yesterday at the home of his sister, Miss Nan Liles, was buried this afternoon in Greenwood cemetery. Funeral services was held at the home of Miss Liles.
    Mr. Liles was graduated from Old Trinity college, and taught there for several years. He received his law license from the University of North Carolina, and in the last years of his life came to Edgecombe county.
    Mr. Liles was a member of the St. James Methodist church.
    Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson, of Raleigh; one son, Hal Liles, of Tarboro; two sisters, Miss Nan Liles, of Tarboro, and Miss Meta Liles, of Boone, and one brother, Jim Liles, of Tarboro.
