    Mrs. Sarah Arthur
    Death Sunday evening at 10:40 o’clock claimed Mrs. Sarah Arthur who passed away at the home of her nephew, Oscar Hunt, of Fullerton, Ky. Mrs. Arthur took ill with grip early in February and steadily grew worse until the end came Sunday. Her husband, James Arthur, died about eighteen years ago.
    Mrs. Arthur was born on Shultz Creek, Greenup county, Ky., Feb. 21, 1847. Except a few years on the West Side she spent her entire life in Greenup county. She leaves one son, John Arthur, of Buena Vista, and three brothers, Taylor Hunt and Scott Hunt, of Walsh, Ky., and William Hunt, of Fullerton.
    The funeral will be held probably Tuesday morning at eleven o’clock from Bennett Chapel on Shultz Creek, with interment in Bennett cemetery.

    Notes:

    William Hunt, age 85, long a prominent and influential citizen of Fullerton, passed away at his home in that village at six o'clock Friday evening. He had been seriously ill for several weeks and his death did not come unexpectedly to loved ones and friends.

    In addition to his faithful wife, Mr. Hunt leaves two sons, Leslie of Fullerton, and who is employed in this city, and Dr. A. P. Hunt, well known Fullerton surgeon and physician.

    While Mr. Hunt had retired as a cattle dealer, he evidenced much interest in the welfare of Fullerton and was always ready and willing to do anything that would benefit the town or its people. He owned considerable land in and around Fullerton and his death is a distinct loss to the community. Mr. Hunt was a man of progressive ideas, was an affectionate husband and an indulgent father and will be missed.

    The funeral services will be held in the M.E. Church in Fullerton at 1 p.m. Sunday. Burial will take place in the Frost, Ky., cemetery.

    Aged Resident In Allerton Is Taken By Death
    Mrs. Philora Hedges, 80, died at 5:20 o’clock Tuesday morning (January 31, 1928) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lottie Clester.
    Infirmities and heart disease caused her demise. She had been ill for several weeks. The exact hour for the funeral has not been set, but it will be held sometime Thursday at the Presbyterian church with Rev. J. M. Bean, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield cemetery. Mrs. Hedges was born at Greenup, Ky., Sept. 28, 1847. She came to Allerton 45 years ago. Dec. 26, 1866 she was married to James A. Hedges who died six years ago.
    She leaves the following children: Mrs. George Clifton, of Moneta, Ia.; Mrs. Edward Ellis, of Macy, Ind.; Mrs. Thomas Smith, of Homer, Ill.; Mrs. Lottie Clester, of Allerton, and George Hedges, of Gilmore City, Ia. She is also survived by 21 grand-children and several great grand-children.

    Maddox – At her home in this city, on February 16, 1898, of pneumonia. Mrs. R.E. Maddox, aged 32 years and 9 days.
    Nannie Virginia Hitchcock was born in Guinup County, Ky., where she resided until 1884, when she went to Fairmount, Ill, where she was joined in the hold bonds of matrimony to Robert E. Maddox, on march 12, of same years. In 1885 they moved to this county, and have resided here continuously ever since. The deceased joined the Christian church at the age of fourteen years, and after removing to this county, there being no organization of the faith of her choice here, she joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, and has lived a devoted Christian life for the past eight years in that faith. A few days before she took sick she told her husband that she was ready and willing to go at any time, and requested f him that if she was called away, he should keep the children together and take good care of them. She leaves a husband and six children to mourn their loss, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire community in this their sad hour of affliction. In her death the husband loses a devoted and loving companion; the children lose a kind and affectionate mother, and the community loses one who was ever ready to minister to the sick, and her untiring efforts to be a help in time of need. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.E. Scott, and the remains were interred in the Gove city cemetery.
