  1. 1.  Geneva Razor was born on 25 Aug 1918 in Bath County, Kentucky; died on 22 Oct 2007 in Henderson, Clark County, Nevada; was buried in Slaty Point Cemetery, Rowan County, Kentucky.

    Notes:

    She was born August 25, 1918 in Bath County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Allie and Mable Ralston Razor.

    Geneva was a homemaker and a member of the Rowan County Homemakers, the Bluebank First Church of God where she served as song leader and the Kentucky Farm Bureau Association. She loved fishing, her flower gardens and nature. Geneva tried to get everyone see the beauty in nature. She loved her friends and her door was always open to anyone.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 591/2 years, Burl Moore who passed away on March 31, 1993 and three brothers, Claude Razor, Gene Razor and Ewell Razor.

    Survivors include two daughters, Lana Peacock and her husband, James Richard of Las Vegas, Nevada and Joyce Marie Moore Alfrey of Auburndale Florida, four grandchildren, Jameson Burl Allen Peacock, Daryl Alfrey, Jeannie Carroll and Leigh Ann Morris, seven great-grandchildren, Erin Alfrey, Amanda Alfrey, Michael Alfrey, Tess Marie Carroll, Zachary Morris, Mariah Morris and Arabella Morris and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Bluebank First Church of God with Rev. Jeff Fannin and Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Slaty Point Cemetery at Farmers. Visitation is after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.

    Pallbearers will be family and friends.

    Joyce Marie Moore Alfrey, age 80, of Auburndale went to heaven on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. She was born March 4, 1938 in Salt Lick, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Burl and Geneva Jewel (Razor) Moore. She was a resident of Polk County for over 60 years. She graduated from Breckinridge High School in Rowan County, Kentucky and continued her education at Florida Southern graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Joyce was a 6th grade teacher at Inwood Elementary and loved teaching; she wanted her students to know how special they were and what great potential they had. Former students still recall her contagious smile and wonderful hugs. Joyce loved nature and saw God’s beauty everywhere. Her descriptive creative writings were magical. She was an avid reader, loved to shop at thrift stores, go to arts and crafts bazaars; she enjoyed weaving, advocating for wildlife, making jewelry and was a fierce Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan! Joyce loved her family passionately. She instilled her love of life and reverence of God in her children. She was a member of Auburndale Community Church. Her passing came suddenly and has left the family heartbroken but celebrating her extraordinary life, for as long as we are apart, our lives will not be whole. Someday we will be together again; we know she is one of God’s most precious angels. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Gene Alfrey and son – David Lee Alfrey.

    Joyce is survived by her loving & devoted family;

    Son: Daryl (Roseann) Alfrey of Gulf Breeze, FL.

    2 Daughters: Jeannie Carroll of Auburndale, FL. Leigh Ann (David) Morris of Haines City, FL.

    Sister: Lana (Butch) Peacock of Las Vegas, NV.

    7 Grandchildren: Erin, Amanda, Michael, Tess, Mariah, Zachary and Arabella

    Surrounded by his loving family, Daryl Austin Alfrey, 62, was called home on February 28, 2021. He lived with gratitude and in service to his family, friends, community, and country.

    Daryl was born on February 8, 1959, in Conway, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Austin and Joyce Marie Alfrey, and his brother, David Lee Alfrey.

    Daryl grew up in Polk County, FL. He embraced the unique opportunity of living along the lakes of Central Florida. He enjoyed searching for Indian artifacts, arrowheads, and fossils, and was a water-loving, outdoor enthusiast. He graduated from Auburndale High School and Stetson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. While there, he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

    His love of country led him to become a pilot for the United States Navy. He served his country as a P-3 Orion Pilot stationed at NAS Jacksonville, and as a T-34 Instructor Pilot at NAS Pensacola. He was able to continue his passion for flying when he was hired by Delta Air Lines. In his 33 year career, he was a Captain for 24 years. He was a Flight Engineer and First Officer on the B-727, a First Officer and then Captain on the MD-88, a Captain on the B-757, B-767, B-767-300ER, and finally, the B-767-400.

    His career complemented his adventurous side. He loved exploring unique places all over the world, always embracing the various cultures and languages. He believed in the importance of family, hard work, and the impact a smile could bring to a person's day. He never met a stranger along his journeys, and he loved telling stories from his travels. Daryl and Rose's love of travel and adventure was instilled in their children through family vacations, scuba diving, boating, fishing, exploring the ocean, and numerous other family traditions. He was a member of the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church and the Community Life United Methodist Church, as well as the Pensacola Beach Elk's Lodge.

    He leaves behind his beloved wife and fishing partner of 38 years, Roseann; two daughters, Erin Bevis (Troy) and Amanda O'Connor (Clarke); his son, Michael Austin Alfrey; granddaughter Emilia Rose Bevis; two sisters, Jeannie Carroll and Leigh Ann Morris (David); and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives; as well as friends whom he loved like family.

    A memorial Service will be held on June 12, 2021, at the Community Life United Methodist Church, Gulf Breeze, FL. Receiving line will be at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am. Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze, FL, has been entrusted with arrangements.

    The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful and caring doctors, nurses, and staff at the Moffitt Cancer Center, Gulf Breeze Hospital, and the Ciano Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation.
