    Mr. Petero was a native of Indianapolis. He lived in Modesto 15 years. He was an linoleum layer. He was a member of First General Baptist Church, Oakdale.

    He is survived by his wife, Marion Petero of Modesto; children, Dale Petero and Jack Petero, both of Modesto, Wayne Petero of Montana, Ed Petero of Oakdale, Logan Petero of Salida and Darlene Weimer of Iowa; and 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

    Benjamin "Dale" Petero
    November 9, 1945 - May 23, 2013
    Dale Petero of Modesto, California, passed away on May 23, 2013, after a long struggle with Agent Orange caused cancer, at his home, with his friends and family at his bedside at the age of 67. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 9, 1945. He was a self employed flooring contractor for 50 years. Dale enjoyed fishing, camping, coaching baseball, and spending time with family and friends.
    He attended grammar school and high school in Stockton, California. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1968, where he served his country proudly in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1970 as a PVT E-1, and received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Marksman Medal for rifle. He was a member of the American Legion and was never without his Vietnam Veteran ball cap.
    Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Anne Petero, four brothers, Wayne Petero of Montana, Eddie Petero of Idaho, Logan Petero of California and Jack Petero of California; 7 children, George Richardson, Harley and Tammie Petero, Eva and Mark Steele, Dale and Lisa Petero; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Marion Petero, and his sister, Darlene Weimer of Iowa.
    He was a member of Living Grace Church in Riverbank, California. In lieu of flowers, do an act of charity for a stranger, friend or charity of your choice .
    A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 28 from 5-8 pm, at Eaton Family Funeral home in Modesto.
    Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at 10 am, at the Modesto Cemetery Association located on Scenic Drive in Modesto.

    Marion "Darlene" Weimer, age 58, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at her home in Wall Lake, Iowa.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 15th, at the Wall Lake Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth McMillen officiating. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

    Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, December 14th, at the funeral home in Wall Lake.

    Darlene was born on October 17, 1949, in Stockton, California, the only girl of six children, born to Benjamin Petero and Marion (Baker) Petero. She grew up in California where she attended school. On May 5, 1967, she was united in marriage to John P. Weimer, Jr., in Montclair, California. This union was blessed with four children: John, Don, David, and Gina.

    Darlene accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in October 1977 and was baptized on August 26, 1979. She was a member of the Wall Lake Baptist Church.

    Being a mom and taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren, brought her great joy. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother who cherished her family and grandchildren and loved them very deeply. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, taking care of others, and keeping in touch with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling this fall to the coast of Maine and stood in awe of God's handiwork. May she rest in peace.

    Survivors include her husband, John P. Weimer, Jr.; her mother Marion Petero of Wall Lake, IA; her children: John Weimer and wife Amber and Don Weimer and wife Gwendolyn both of Mankato, MN, David Weimer and wife Kristi of Des Moines, IA, and Gina Anderson and husband Martin of Sac City; and 13 grandchildren: Britney Anderson, Alexa Weimer, Lydia Anderson, Preston Weimer, Jordyn Anderson, Riley Weimer, Isaac Weimer, Eli Weimer, Madalin Weimer, Grace Weimer, Parker Weimer, Jacob Weimer, and Abigail Weimer. Other survivors include her five brothers: Benjamin Dale Petero of CA, Anthony Wayne Petero of MT, Nelson Edward Petero of ID, Richard Logan Petero and Oliver Jack Petero both of CA.

    Darlene was preceded in death by her father Benjamin Petero; father-in-law John P. Weimer, Sr., mothers-in-law Eleanor Ravenelle and Viola Weimer; and an unborn son.

    Graveside rites were held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, May 15, for Linda Lou Mosteller, 13-day-old baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mosteller, who died of pneumonia Sunday at the family home three miles south of Spearsville.
    She was born April 30, 1951 and had been ill two days. Naomi Downs, Pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, conducted the service, followed by burial at Spearsville.
    Surviving with the parents, Ross and Mary Petro Mosteller, are three brothers, Carl, Ross and Jack, and one sister, Elsie, all at home.
