    He was born March 25, 1922 in Dolores, CO. He passed away on October 25, 1999 in Coalinga, CA. He was a 31 year resident of Coalinga, he retired as a Truck Driver.
    He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Juanita Cassity of Coalinga, CA; daughter, Vicky Palacios of Coalinga, CA; son, Willy and wife, Sandra Cassity of Dustin Acres, CA; daughter, Marline Cassity of Cortez, CO; son, Ray Cassity of Ignacio, CO; grandchildren, Tony Palacios, Elida Cassity, Jason, Eddie, Maria and Leah Maiz, Wayne, Beck and Shelly Cassity and one great-granddaughter, Dixie Valentine Lobmeyer.
    He was preceded in death by his son, Phillips Dean Cassity.
    He was a Veteran of WWII with the U.S. Army, he received these honors; 1) American Service Medal, 2) Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, 3) Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, 4) WWII Victory medal, 5) Good Conduct Medal, and was a Truck Driver of more than 50 years, he was always a hard worker and dependable provider for his family.
    During the time he worked for the ones he loved he always made family time to share events that are now traditions. He will be remembered for the love he showed his family, his compassion, love of the outdoors, and camping on the family fishing trips, of which one special trip made annually on his birthday, his extra special gift was his sense of humor he maintained always.
    Late “Gramps Ray” retired and became the pie maker of not only family but for friends as well. He baked at least 30 pies every holiday and always made sure, each one of his children received their favorite. Not only a baker, every weekend when we got together to visit, he made his famous “bisquits and gravy” of which we all enjoyed. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, for his love is engraved upon the hearts he touched and the hands he held.
    Funeral Services will be held at Coalinga Funeral Chapel, 486 N. 5th St., Coalinga on Thursday, October 28, 1999 at 10:00 A.M.
