    Mrs. Mary Phillip Brown Dail, 74, of Purdin died June 4 at the Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan.
    Born Aug. 8, 1893, in Linn County near Purdin, she was the daughter of David T. and American Ellen Reynolds Brown.
    She spent all her life in the Purdin area and was united in marriage to Charles K. Dail.
    She is survived by a daughter, Nannie H. Smith of Linneus; a son-in-law, Norman Smith of Linneus; two granddaughters, Mary Ann Minnis of 111 Tenth street and Nancy Ellen Shiflett of Purdin, and their husbands, Albert Minnis and Tom Shiflett, and Donna and Daniel Minnis.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother in infancy, and a sister, Bessie H. Brown.
    Memorial services were held Thursday at 2 at the Purdin Baptist Church with the Rev. Wrisinger officiating. Burial followed in a Linneus cemetery.
    Funeral music was provided by David Long, who sang “In the Sweet Bye and Bye” and “Good Night and Good Morning” accompanied by June Street.
    Pallbearers were Nolan Clark, Robert Clark, Max Falconer, Eddie Falconer, Larry Lambert and J.I. Purdin.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a grandson, Toby Shiflett.
