Notes - Emmelene E. Van Riper, 89, Sarasota, died April 12, 2006. She was born Oct. 17, 1916, in Montana and came to Sarasota in 1965 from Trenton, Mich. She was a homemaker and was a Protestant. Survivors include sons Jimmie of Sarasota and Donald of New Port Richey; sisters Helen Schulters of Maple Grove, Ore., and Patricia Knight of Lincoln Park, Mich.; and a grandchild. No visitation is planned. Services were private. Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge.
