She first married John H. McGhee Sr.(1829-1859) in 1847 and had five children: James William McGhee, Amanda Jane (McGhee) Cassity, Benjamin Franklin McGhee, Andrew Hamilton McGhee, and John Henry McGhee.
Elizabeth married second to Snellin Ellis Dillon (1810-1872) in 1864. They had four children: Jessie A. Dillon, Snellin E. Dillon, Susan A. Dillon, and Robert L. Dillon.
Elizabeth married a third time to John Simpson (1828-1897) in 1875.
