- Mrs. Edward Plotner
Akron - Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Plotner, 66, of Rt.1, who died Tuesday in the Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, will be at the Tom Haupert Funeral Home, Akron, at 2 p.m. Friday. Rev. Daniel Bengston, pastor, and Rev. Claude Fawns, pastor emeritus of the Akron Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home until the time of services. Mrs. Plotner was a lifetime resident of Fulton County, born Dec. 31, 1900. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service, the Woman's Club and the Fair Board, all of Akron. She was chairman of the Woodlawn Women's Hospital Auxiliary of Rochester, active in the Fulton County Chorus, and the Henry Twp. Community Service. In 1943, she was married to Edward Plotner who survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. Earl Hoffman, of Akron; Mrs. Vernon Dye, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Emmet Taylor, of Wabash, Ind., and Charles Taylor, of Buena Park, Calif.; two brothers, Dewey Merley, of Akron, and LeRoy Merley, of Rochester; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hazel PLOTNER, 66, R.R. 1, Akron, died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn hospital after a two-week illness. Mrs. Plotner was born Dec. 31, 1900 in Fulton county to Charles and Sarah SNIDER MERLEY. She spent her entire life in Fulton county. In 1943 she married Everett PLOTNER. She was a member of the Akron Methodist church, the Akron Womens club, the WSCS, the Akron Fair board, the Gray Ladies, was chairman of the Woodlawn hospital auxiliary, was active in the Fulton county chorus and was active for 20 years in the Henry township community service. In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Genell) HOFFMAN, Akron, and Mrs. Vernon (Normaleen) DYE, Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Charles TAYLOR, Buena Park, Cal., and Emmett TAYLOR, Wabash; two brothers, Dewey MERLEY, Akron, and LeRoy MERLEY, Rochester; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One brother preceded in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Haupert funeral home, Akron. The Rev. Dan BENGSTON and the Rev. Claude FAWNS will officiate. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
