He was born March 25, 1922 in Dolores, CO. He passed away on October 25, 1999 in Coalinga, CA. He was a 31 year resident of Coalinga, he retired as a Truck Driver.

He was a Veteran of WWII with the U.S. Army, he received these honors; 1) American Service Medal, 2) Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, 3) Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, 4) WWII Victory medal, 5) Good Conduct Medal, and was a Truck Driver of more than 50 years, he was always a hard worker and dependable provider for his family.
During the time he worked for the ones he loved he always made family time to share events that are now traditions. He will be remembered for the love he showed his family, his compassion, love of the outdoors, and camping on the family fishing trips, of which one special trip made annually on his birthday, his extra special gift was his sense of humor he maintained always.
Late “Gramps Ray” retired and became the pie maker of not only family but for friends as well. He baked at least 30 pies every holiday and always made sure, each one of his children received their favorite. Not only a baker, every weekend when we got together to visit, he made his famous “bisquits and gravy” of which we all enjoyed. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, for his love is engraved upon the hearts he touched and the hands he held.
