Highly Respected Woman Passes Away At Home---Funeral Tuesday.

Mrs. Ellen Barnwell, resident of this city for the past 42 years, died at her home, 811 South Vermillion street, at 10:50 o'clock, Saturday evening. Suffering from heart trouble for many years, Mrs. Barnwell had apparently been in good health until a few days before her death when her condition became serous. Her husband and children were at her bedside when she passed away.

In this city where she had spent her life, she was widely known for her charitable nature and unselfish interests. As a mother, she lived the lives of her children and gave them every care and kindness humanly possible. Her innumerable friends will join in their bereavement.

      Born In Flanagan.
As the daughter of John and Katherine Godfrey, she was born May 20, 1849 in Flanagan, Ill. It was in Streator, March 22, 1889 that she was united in marriage with William Barnwell. They were the parents of six children, one, Mrs. Agnes Durham, of Streator, who preceded her mother in death 10 months ago. Besides her husband she leaves five children, Mrs. Mary Neblock, Mrs. Francis Stewart, and Mrs. Catherine Bryant of Streator, Mrs. Henrietta Russ, and Edward Barnwell of Ottawa. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Barnwell, and Mrs. Catherine Wright of Streator.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning from the home, 811 South Vermillion street, at 8:30 and 9 o'clock from the Immaculate Conception church. Rev. W. A. Courtney, pastor at the Budd church at Sunbury will officiate at the services. Interment will be made in the St. Mary's cemetery.
