Crownland cemetery was established in 1867 at the highest point in Noblesville, IN mainly due to flooding issues in the older Riverside cemetery on the banks of the White River. In early Noblesville obituaries and interment lists, Crownland was referred to as “New Cemetery” with “Old Cemetery” being Riverside established in 1827.
