Notes - James Baird
Davenport – Services for James E. Baird, 69, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today.
Mr. Baird died Sunday at his home.
He was a beautician at M.L. Parker for 25 years and retired from Red Jacket (Marley Pump) in 1990. In May of this year, he retired from Wal-Mart, Bettendorf.
He married Mary-Virginia Parish in 1943 in Memphis, Mo., during World War II while serving in the U.S. Army as a technical sergeant until discharge in 1945.
Memberships included Reformed Presbyterian Church, Wapello, during his youth, and later, St. John’s United Methodist Church, before becoming part of Grace United Methodist Church, Davenport. He loved his family and the Lord.
A memorial fund has been established.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Deborah (Mrs. William) Bishel, Davenport; a son, David, Davenport; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a sister, Eleanor (Mrs. Warren) Durst, Muscatine; and brothers, Donald, Coralville; Lloyd, Cedar Rapids; and Phil, DeKalb, Ill.
