William Irwin Chestnut died at his Cottage Grove home Friday. He lived in Cottage Grove 35 years. Born Sept. 11, 1882, at Clay Center, Kans., he was married Aug. 16, 1905, at Hutchinson, Kans., to Margaret M. Walkinshaw.
Surviving are his widow; children, Lawrence Chestnut Creswell, Mrs. Florence Mave, Albany, Mrs. Ada Pitcher, Cottage Grove; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Maude Walkinshaw, Eugene, Mrs. Minnie Davis, Eugene, Elmer Chestnut of Tacoma, Wash., Clarence Chestnut of Grants Pass, and Mrs. Elsie O. Barton, Corvallis. He was a member of the AFL.
Services will be announced later by Mills Mortuary.
