    • Late rites for G.C. Middleton held Tuesday
      Funeral services for George Cleis Middleton, 63, were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Mahoney’s Chapel. Officiant was Rev. Alfred C. Pace of the First Methodist Church.
      Middleton, a former automobile mechanic, was born Nov. 3, 1899 in Palisades, Colo., and had resided in this area since 1913. He passed away Sunday morning at his home one half mile southeast of Deming.
      Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
      Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Deming; one son, James W. Middleton of Deming; three daughters, Mrs. Edgar L. Etheridge of Deming, Mrs. Don Scovill of Albuquerque, and Mrs. Clifford D. Sires of Santa Ana, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
