The funeral for Clayton J. Trent of Dayton will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. The Rev. Kent Harrop of First Baptist Church, McMinnville, will officiate.
Interment will be in the mausoleum in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville.
The funeral home will be open for visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. today and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Trent died Nov. 16, 1999, in Oakwood Country Place, McMinnville. He was 86.
He was born April 22, 1913, in Powder Springs, Tenn., the son of John H. and Alice Bowers Trent. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1930.
He worked for Birdseye Cannery in Hillsboro until 1942. He served in the Army in World War II from 1942 to 1945 as a messenger in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany.
After completing his military service, he helped run his parents' dairy farm in Cloverdale.
He and Isabelle Patterson were married July 2, 1960, in Cloverdale. Mr. Trent farmed in Dayton from 1958 to 1973, when he retired.
Survivors include his wife; two stepdaughters, Donnis Swift of Newberg and Norma Staebler of Pendleton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mae Shelburne; and two brothers, Everett Trent and Paul Trent.
