Notes - Morning Sun News-Herald, Morning Sun, Iowa, 15 April 1926, page 1. ANOTHER PIONEER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY. Funeral of Mrs. Charlotte Casten Friday. Mrs. Charlotte Casten, died at the family residence northwest of town Wednesday evening about five o'clock. She was taken sick with the flu Saturday last and gradually grew worse until the hour of her death. The funeral services will be held from her late home Friday afternoon, April 16th, at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. W. Munster. Interment at Elmwood cemetery. Charlotte Lind Casten was born in Sweden, February 23, 1840. She was married to Samuel Casten fifty-three years ago and this community has, been her home for many years. Mr. Casten passed away some years ago, she had been making her home with her son Conrad since that time. Two children survive the mother, Mrs. Sam Jarvis, living near Sperry. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
