    • Mrs. Hazel C. Porter
      Mrs. Hazel C. Porter, 77, Topeka, died July 1 at a Topeka hospital.
      Mrs. Porter was substitute postmaster at Auburn and Dover for several years.
      She was born Nov. 22, 1909,near Eskridge, the daughter of Charles Emory and Blanche Bell Cox. She lived in Auburn for many years before she moved to Topeka in 1973.
      Mrs. Porter was a member of University United Methodist Church, Capitola Rebecca Lodge No.219, American Association of Retired Persons, auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant, Auxiliary No.3. She also played the kazoo in the Landmark Limitations Band.
      She married Lawrence W. Porter may 11, 1939, at Lawrence. He died March 11, 1972.
      Survivors include two brothers, Clarence Cox, Wichita, and Emory Cox, Winchester.
      Services were July 3 at University United Methodist Church, Topeka. Burial was in Auburn Cemetery, Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Topeka, was in charge of arrangements.
      Memorial contributions may be made to University United Methodist Church, 1621 S.W. College, Topeka, 66604.
