    • SILAS, CAROLYN (DUGAN) , 83, passed away Feb. 17, 2010, at ORMC. She was born in Springfield, OH. She resided in Central Florida since 1960. Mrs. Silas is survived by her daughter Mary (George) Gantt; her son Carl (Denise) Silas III; grandchildren: Michael and Ashley Hess, Laurin and
      Matthew Gantt, and Mary
      Carolyn Silas; great-grandson Michael Hess III, all of whom she loved dearly. She was a retired teacher and social worker. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, 639 W. Central Blvd. Orlando, FL, 32801, 407-426-1250. Arrangements are being handled by Dove Funeral Home 4310 Curry Ford Rd., Orlando, FL, 32806. 407-851-1983.
