Notes - Francis Earl Gilliland, 66, Hillsdale, died Friday, March 10, 1961, in the Miami County hospital. Death was caused by an infection following a year's illness. The son of Perry L., and Jeanette McDaniel, he was born March 29, 1894, in Iconium, Ia. He had lived in the Hillsdale community 60 years and was engaged in farming until his health failed. In 1939, he was married to Glady Mary Roman, who survives him; as do two sons, Allen L. Gilliland of Las Vegas, Nev., and Gary Lee Gilliland of the home, two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Brown and Miss Faye Gilliland. Mrs. Gilliland teaches fifth grade at the South school. Funeral services were held in the Wilson and Son chapel Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Dwight E. Lewis officiating. Pallbearers were Roy Slyter, Richard Schoenberger, C.A. Gray, Wilber White, Frank Baldwin and Bill Stiles. Burial was in the Hillsdale cemetery.
