- Marriage licenses were issued in Topeka last week for the following Wabaunsee county young people:
Charles W. Haren, Harveyville, age 41 and May Carter, Harveyville age 28.

- Services and burial were held in Sacramento, California, Tuesday, for Charles Worley "Chod" Harden, 67, who died there Sunday, according to word received in Topeka by his brother, Orval Henry Harden of 718 Buchanan.
He was born January 22,1881, in Wabash, Indiana and spent most of his life at Ozawkie and Topeka before moving to California four years ago. He was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Harden and Hannah Loretta (Ellis) Harden of Ozawkie.
Besides his brother Orval Henry Harden of Topeka, Kansas and Ova Hugh Harden of Martinez, California, he leaves his wife, Mrs. May Harden of Del Paso Heights, California; two sons, Everett and Billie of the home; two stepsons, Roy and John, a stepdaughter, Ruth and his father-in-law, Charlie Cripps of Topeka.

- Harden – Entered into rest in this city February 1, 1948, Charles W. Harden, loving husband of May Harden of Del Paso Heights, loving father of Everet and Bill Harden of Del Paso Heights, Mrs. Ruth Moroney of Alameda, John Carter of San Francisco and Roy Carter of Del Paso Height, also survived by four grandchildren, brother of Ova Harden of Martinez, Calif., and Oroval Harden of Kansas; a native of Indiana, aged 67 years. The funeral services will be held tomorrow (Tuesday), February 3rd, at 11 A.M., at the North Sacramento Funeral Home. Interment Grant Memorial Cemetery.
