James T. Walsh died suddenly at his home eight miles south of Deming Saturday, November 27.
Mr. Walsh was born near Moline, Illinois, October 31, 1857, and came to Deming from Gillett, Arkansas, October 1908, where he has since made his home, and during his long residence here he made a host of friends who mourn his death.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel McKeown Walsh, and six children: Mrs. George Billingslea, Los Angeles, California; John Smith Walsh, Gillett, Arkansas; Frank Wilbur Walsh, Sacramento, California; Mrs. Rose Brooks, Mrs. George Middleton and Mrs. Carl Schultz, all of Deming.
Funeral services were held from the Mahoney’s chapel Sunday, November 28 at 4:00 p.m. The chapel was filled with sorrowing friends who were present to pay the last tribute of respect, and beautiful floral offerings covered the casket and alter. Dr. F.D. Vickers conducted the service, and spoke of the loss sustained by the bereaved family and his many friends in the community.
The following friends served as pallbearers: George Bell, Frank Bell, John Krill, Charley Ohman, E.M. Godden and S.M. Calkins. Burial was in Mountainview cemetery.
