Otto Clarence Baird MD University of Iowa Iowa City Iowa Lockridge of 1910 while attempting to board a moving train at that place August 19 was thrown under the wheels and had Both legs cut off just above the ankle and died in the Burlington Iowa Hospital August 24 aged 24.

Dr. Otto C. Baird, member of a well-known old Des Moines county family, passed away at the hospital here Wednesday afternoon shortly after 3 o’clock. While trying to board a train at Lockridge a week ago Friday he was thrown beneath the wheels. He was brought to the Burlington hospital but the shock had been too great and the intensely hot weather was against him.
