- Nova B. Carroll Dies After Brief Illness
Nova B. Carroll, 74, McCook pharmacist, died early Sunday morning at his home there after a brief illness. He had worked as was usual on Saturday at the Prest Drug Company and after going home in the evening became ill and medical aid was summoned. After midnight he became more critically ill and passed away as ambulance attendants were preparing to take him to the hospital.
Funeral services were held at the McCook Memorial Methodist church Wednesday morning and interment was in the Arapahoe cemetery beside his wife, the former Viola Tull, who died June 29, 1961.
Nov Carroll was born and raised in the Cambridge community. About 1012-14 he was employed as a registered pharmacist at the Arapahoe drug store and will be remembered by many. He was a well-known baseball player and was the catcher for an excellent team which Arapahoe fielded in those years.
Later Mr. Carroll operated drug stores at Hampton, Funk, Edison and Danbury, but had been for many years employed at McCook.
He is survived by three sons: Richard J. of Pueblo, Colo., Bill D. of Sioux City, Ia., and Jack of Sunnyvale, Calif.; nine grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters.
