      James Tull was born in Louisa county in 1858, married Ellen G. Shields. Lived on his mother's farm for a term of years, and is now on the McCray farm. The children are Edith L., Clifford I., James E., Otto E., Maggie O., Ina F., Viola E., and Twila.

      James married Ellen Gay Shields on Dec. 26, 1881 in Louisa County, IA. Ellen, born July 1861 in Maryland, to parents born in Ireland. Her parents were Isaac Shields (1834-1907) and Margaret McCullum (1836-1903).

      James and Ellen had 11 children:
      Edyth Lorena Tull b Feb 20 1883 in Yellow Springs, Des Moines County, IA. She lived with her parents her entire life. Edyth died Jan. 6, 1961 in Arapahoe County, NE.;

    • Arapahoe Old Time Dies Last Night
      James L. Tull, long time resident of Arapahoe and father of Mrs. R.P. Disbrow of this city, died last night at his home from a heart attack.
      Tull had been ill for the past five weeks as a result of a fall down the basement stairs of his home.
      Mrs. Disbrow left this morning for Arapahoe to help make plans for the funeral.
