    • Victor Charles Gilroy, 74, of Perry died of cancer Monday at Rowley Memorial Masonic Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, and burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery.
      Mr. Gilroy was born in Des Moines and also had lived in Eagle Grove, Georgia and Jefferson. He retired as a road maintenance worker for the Department of Transportation and was a member of Perry American Legion post and a Navy veteran of World War II.
      Surviving are two sons, Dennis of Waterloo and Stephen of Grovetown, Ga.; a brother Merle of Jefferson; and three grandchildren.
      Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m.
