    James P. Exline, 54, of 189 Shadelane, Crestview, Fla., died unexpectedly in Pensacola, Fla., at 12.27 p.m. Friday following several years of failing health.
    A former resident of Springfield, Mrs. Exline resided in Florida for the past five years.
    He was born May 15, 1923, in Jackson, O., a son of Lester and Dorothy Wykle Exline.
    Survivors include his wife, Grace, of Crestview, Fla.; one son, David, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Exline of South Solon; two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Marie) Henselman of Huntsville and Mrs. Jack (Betty) Brubaker of South Solon; one brother, Roger T. of Russells Point; five nieces; several aunts and uncles.
    Mr. Exline retired as a civil engineer in 1971 from the Defense Electronic Supply Center (DESC). From 1946 to 1957, he was a foreman at International Harvester Co.
    He was a member of the Grape Grove Church of Christ, Jamestown; St. Andrew Lodge No.619, F and AM; Antioch Temple, AAONMS, Dayton and Old Spanish Trail Shrine Club, Crestview, Fla. He was a veteran of World War II.
    His body was taken to Woods-Alliger Funeral Home where friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Grape Grove Church of Christ with the Rev. Louis Lowrey officiating. Burial will be in Grape Grove Cemetery.
    St. Andrews Lodge No.169 will hold services at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. His body will lie in state one hour before services in the church.
    The family requests contributions be made to Shrine Cripple Children’s Hospital, Lexington, Ky., or Shrine Children’s Burns Institute, Cincinnati.
