    DIED. --- At her home in Payne township February 20, 1914, Mrs. Sherman Milroy nee Nellie Bailey, aged 40 years. Deceased leaves a husband and 5 children to mourn her death. The funeral was held from the Reformed Presbyterian Church at Quinter Tuesday and burial made in Quinter cemetery.

    Nellie Agnes (Bailey) Milroy was born February 24, 1874 in Page County, Iowa, and died at her home near Quinter, Kansas, February 20, 1914.

    In 1896 she was unite in marriage to J. S. Milroy who, with five children, her father and mother, four brothers and a sister, mourn her death.

    She took her stand with Christ at the age of fifteen and has lived to be a faithful and loving mother, a kind and unselfish neighbor, God knew that her work here on earth was done and that she was ready, and suddenly, He took her.

    Her departure is a call to us to remember the warning, "Be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh."

    The funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. R. McBurney assisted by Rev. G. M. Robb, at the R. P. Church, Tuesday February 24, 1914 and on her fortieth birthday. she was laid to rest in the Quinter Cemetery to await the great awakening.

    Walter “Scott” Milroy
    Walter “Scott’ Milroy, 90, Winchester, died May 16 1994, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Winchester, after a short illness.
    He was born April 5, 1904, at Quinter, the son of James S. and Nellie A. Bailey Milroy. He had lived in Winchester since 1949.
    Mr. Milroy was a longtime custodian and bus driver for the Winchester Public Schools. He had previously worked for farmers in the Winchester area and operated a portable feed mill for many years.
    He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Winchester, and was a former elder of the church.
    He was a charter member of the Winchester Lions Club for over 40 years.
    He was married to Edith A. McElroy May 23, 1930, at Quinter. She preceded him in death Aug. 3, 1991.
    He is survived by four sons, Leland Milroy, Wellsville, Eugene Milroy, Omaha, Gary Milroy, Winchester, and Robert Milroy Prairie Village; two daughters, Nellie Perry, Oskaloosa, and Joan Adams, Middleton, Wisc.; one brother, Raymond Milroy, Wakefield; three sisters, Evadne Graham and Luella Graham, both of Quinter, and Jennie McMahan, Clay Center; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, at the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Winchester, with the Rev. Paul Finley officiating. Burial will be at the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery, Winchester.
    Memorial may be made to the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital Foundation Fund.
