Dr. Alfred R. Heasty, Sr., 69, of Lost Corners Road, Morganton, NC, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 1995, in Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA. Born March 19, 1926, at Sterling, KS, he was a graduate of Hope College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 in the Pacific Theater.
Dr. Heasty received his medical degree at the University of Michigan. He also attended Tulane University where he received a masters degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He was in private practice for 43 years in several cities in Kansas and Indiana. He also was a missionary doctor in Sudan and Kenya, Africa.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey Fern Christy Heasty; four sons, Russ Heasty of Metairie, LA, Dennis Heasty of Morganton, PA, Paul Heasty of Lafayette, IN, and James Biel of Abilene, TX; three daughters, Rita H. Chee of Portland, OR, Mrs. Donna H. Brown of Ellettsville, IN, and Patricia C. Heasty of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Mildred H. Allen of Duarte, CA; and nine grandchildren.
