- Tom Tull Obituary
Tom was born in Arapaho, Nebraska on his family's farm in 1921. He lived there until 1935, when the Republican River flooded out his family and many of their neighbors. The family moved to town, where they continued to live for many more years. Tom was a football player and a State Championship competitor in the pole-vault while he was at Arapaho High School, graduating in 1939. After graduation he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.) for a year, and then went to Denver, Colorado in 1940 to pursue an education. It was there that he met his future wife, Margaret Hill. After the attack on Pearl Harbor in December of 1941, Tom joined the United States Coast Guard and was stationed in Oakland, California. Margaret joined him there, where they were married and spent the war years. After the war they returned to Denver, where they had their only child, John, in 1946. Tom and Margaret lived in and around the Denver area for the next 47 years, except for one year in Phoenix, Arizona. Tom worked primarily in accounting, but also spent a few years in real estate and landscaping. Road trips throughout the Colorado Rocky Mountains were Tom and Margaret's favorite recreation. In 1993 they moved to Washington State to be near their son, John, daughter-in-law, Charlene, and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Tom liked to golf, so they lived across the street from the Capitol City Golf Course for many years. Tom and Margaret loved the ocean, so they took frequent trips to the coast, especially enjoying the Ocean Shores area and the North Coast of Oregon. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
