Notes - Jerold Nelson, 77, of Overland Park, KS passed away September 15, 2014. He was born November 10, 1936 to William and Esther Nelson in Summerfield, KS. He joined the U.S. Army after high school and served in Frankfurt, Germany for three years. Following military service he graduated from Rockhurst College. Jerold worked for Mobil Oil Corporation for 35 years in the Kansas City Credit Card Center, and corporate offices in New York, NY and Fairfax, VA. In retirement he enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill, twin brother Jerome, and Norman. Jerold is survived by his wife of 54 years Darlene; daughter Teresa (Kevin) Vap; sons Brian (Karen) Nelson and Terry Nelson; grandchildren Grady and Margaret Vap; sister Kathleen (David) Ayres; brother Jim (Sylvia) Nelson; sisters-in-law Ruth Nelson, Mary Anne Nelson and Diane Nelson; extended family and friends.
