Notes - Mary M. Caskey, 83, of Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, died there Tuesday afternoon. Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday, Reformed Presbyterian Church, Clarinda. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, where a prayer service begins at 8, and from 1:30 p.m. to service time Friday, at the church.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha Joseph and her husband Tom, of Marion, and Glola Basler and her husband, Jay, of Mundelein, Ill.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter and two sisters.
Born the daughter of Joseph and Anna Jewett Horning on Nov. 21, 1908, in Clarinda, she married William “Howard” Caskey there on Jan.16, 1929. Mary and her husband farmed in rural Clarinda, and she was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the Mental Health Institute in Clarinda until their retirement in 1974, when they moved to Marion. She was an active member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, both in Clarinda and Marion.
The Rev. Jay Baler will officiate. A memorial fund has been established.
