He was formerly assistant manager and account executive with Thomson and McKinnon locally until retirement. He attended Maryville College in Tennessee and before coming to St. Petersburg he had an extensive career with United Press in New York City. He was a veteran of world War I. A Presbyterian he is survived by his wife Lena McCollum Howard; four sons, Roy O., Pinellas Park; Robert H., St. Petersburg; Reginald W., Eau Gallie; Richard H. St. Petersburg; give daughters, Mrs. Wilma H. Brown, St. Petersburg; Mrs. Wanda H. Brown, St. Petersburg; Mrs. Wanda H. Elston, also of St. Petersburg; Mrs. Louis H. Hicks and Mrs. Carol H. Kaylor, all of St. Petersburg; and Mrs. Betty H. Headley, La Mirada, Calif.; a brother, Theodore Howard of Hazard, Ky.; 26 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 10 a.m. at C.E. Prevatt Memorial Home, Tyrone Blvd. Chapel. Dr. Vaughn M. Johnson of the Fifth Ave. Baptist Church officiating. Interment to follow in Sylvan Abbey Cemetery, Clearwater.

    Richmond, Ky., June 22. – Daniel Boone McCollum, 64, died at his home on Adams street Friday, June 14, following an attack of heart trouble.
    He is survived by four children, Mrs. Bessie Kiker, of Epworth, Ga.; John McCollum, of Berea; Luther McCollum, of Tampa, Fla., and Lonnie McCollum, of Newark, New Jersey.
    Funeral services were held at the Berea Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. A. W. Denlinger.

Kiker Sr., Blue Ridge, Ga., Mrs. W.R. Howard Sr., St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Mr. John A. McCollum, Berea, Ky.; Mr. J. Luther McCollum, Dalton, Ga.; 29 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Logan Funeral Home with Rev. Claude Patterson of Blairsville officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment will be this (Monday) afternoon in Berea, Ky., Logan Funeral Home, Ellijay, Ga., in charge of arrangements.
