    Notes:

    Mrs. Mary Jane Marcus, aged 73, wife of Wm. Marcum, died at the family home in St. Paul Wednesday night about 12 o'clock after an illness of two weeks. Her condition had not been considered serious till a few days before her death when she began to suffer from heart failure. Mrs. Marcum, besides her husband, is survived by eight children, all of whom, except one son; Hugh, residing at McNab, Ark., were at her bedside. Those here were Mrs. Emily Tompkins, of Cass; Mrs. Nettie Hawkins of Lone Elm; Mrs. Lillie Roesch, of Little Rock; Cornelius Marcum of St. Paul; Louis Marcum of Combs; H.B. and Oscar Marcum of Dodge City, Kansas. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Mahaffey of Fayetteville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Robert M. Reed, and burial was made at the Brashears cemetery.
