She was born on Sunday, February 21, 1932 in Burning Springs to the union of the late Robert and Amanda Wilson Murray. She was a homemaker and a member of the Burning Springs Church of God. She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Russell Deaton of Manchester, Roger Deaton and Carol of Bradfordsville, Kentucky, Anita Mosley and Alex of Lexington, Kentucky, Regina Smith and John of London, Kentucky, Brenda Steward of Lexington, Kentucky, and Connie Lunsford and Jeff of London, Kentucky. She was blessed to have many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the joys of her heart. Also surviving are her sisters: Vida Thompson of Manchester and Bobbie Colwell of Scottsburg, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her father and mother: Robert and Amanda Murray, her husband: Granville Pearl Deaton, her daughter: Mary Hampton, her son-in-law: Anson Steward, her daughter-in-law: Jackie Deaton, and her grandson: Chase Lunsford. Her death was unexpected although she had been in poor health the past several years. Caroline Moore Robinson was born May 7, 1875 in Owsley, Ky. She was married to John Robinson in 1893 and they were the parents of seven children. They were former residents of Indianola. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eva Hedges of Sidell, Miss Ida Robinson of Guadalajara, Mexico; two sons, Herman of Hamilton, Ohio and Harley of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 2647 | Mrs. Ruby Riddle Ponder, age 87 of Tucson, AZ and formerly of Mt. Vernon and Lexington, KY, died Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at the Tucson Medical Center. She was the widow of Caleb Ponder and had taught elementary education in the Lexington schools and later kindergarten at Sayre School. She moved to Tucson after Caleb's death in 1989. She was a devout Christian, and an active member, at various times, of Gardenside Christian Church and the Southside and North Lexington Churches of Christ in Lexington. When her son, John pioneered Christian Faith Center in Tucson, she became a member and was an active participant in ministering to the homeless even until age 87. 2650 | Mrs. Sarah Alice Warren, 88, a patient in the Sunnybreeze Convalescent Home, 350 Hancock Ave., died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mercy Hospital, where she had been a patient since Aug. 5. She had been a patient at the convalescent home for three years prior to entering the hospital. Born in Buckhanlon County, Va., on June 22, 1875, the daughter of James and Melinda Jackson Epperson, she was educated in the public schools of that community. The last living member of a family of nine children, four boys and five girls, she was married to William Henry Warren in Owsley County, Ky., in January of 1898, and the devoted couples moved to Hamilton in 1909. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1948. Mr. Warren preceded her in death in that year. Home of Daughter The family lived on N.F St., Hamilton, for many years, and following her husband's death, Mrs. Warren made her home with a daughter, Mrs. W.A. (Melba) Schneider, 500 Marcia Ave. An active member of First Baptist Church, Mrs. Warren was an ardent worker in the congregation and was a member of the Philathea Class of that parish. A devoted wife and loving mother, Mrs. Warren dedicated her life to the welfare and happiness of her family. She enjoyed traveling, and during their 50 years of marriage Mr. And Mrs. Warren spent many happy times visiting throughout the country. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Schneider and Mrs. Paul (Charlene) Stewart, Columbus; two sons, Everett M. Warren and Robert L. Warren, both of Columbus; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Elmer A.
