A native of Rockcastle County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and and Sarah Durham McHaffey. She was a member of the Holiness church. Mrs. Spivey was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Spivey. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Terry of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Rebecca Waddle of Frankfort, Mrs. Sally Travillian and Mrs. Tesallen Carpenter, both of Livingston, Mrs. Nevarrene Robinson of Lynn, Three sons, Bentley and Elmer Spivey, both of Livingston, Casper Spivey of Lamero, 40 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and one brother, James McHaffey. She was blessed to have many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the joys of her heart. Moore, on the 6th inst. of extreme old age. She was born in Owsley county near where Booneville now stands. Her father, Rev. Thomas Bowman, was one of the pioneer settlers of Owsley county, and her mother was a Moore, also one of the early settlers of the county, the descendants of whose families make up the greater part of the citizenship of Owsley county. There still lives eight of the old Bowmans and Moores, aged from 85 to 98 years, that are cousins and double cousins, which is more than can be said of most any other family of people now living. 3634 | Mrs. Lennie Reynolds Hamilton – Funeral services for Mrs. Lennie B. Reynolds, who died Sunday in a Hamilton hospital, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Dowling Chapel. The Rev. Shackelford Dies at Winchester Body Is Sent to Fincastle For Burial After Absent Children Arrive Fall Proves Fatal Husband and Eight Children Survive Aged Lee County Woman Winchester, Ky., March 29. - Mrs. M.E. Shackelford died Sunday morning at the home of her son, J.A. Shackelford, of Hays Street, in this city, and the body was sent this morning to her home at Fincastle, Lee County. Arrangements for the funeral will not be made pending the arrival of her children, who live at a distance. The burial is expected to take place Saturday or Sunday. Mrs. Shackelford was 68 years old, and was born and reared and lived all her life within a radius of a few miles of Fincastle. She was the youngest member of a very wealthy and prominent family, which owned hundreds of acres of land in the mountain section. She was Miss Miriam Scott Kincaid before her marriage. Mrs. Shackelford is survived by her aged husband and the following children: J.A. Shackelford, of Winchester; Thomas and Logan Shackelford, of Fincastle; Bristow Shackelford, of Cavour, Wis.; Rosco Shackelford, of Altro; Mrs. Sarah Dailey, of Milton, W.Wa.; Mrs. Addie Treadway, of Saint Maries, Idaho, and Miss Malissa Shackelford, who is a teacher at Clarkis, Idaho. Mrs. Shackelford fell at her home in Fincastle on March 15 and sustained a broken arm and two broken ribs.
