Henry "Bud" Hensley

Henry "Bud" Hensley Jr., 78, of Road 50W died at 2:55 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Hensley was an assembly line worker at Cummins Engine Company's Plant 1 for 26 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Old Union United Church of Christ and enjoyed s p e n d i n g time with his grandchildren, watching NASCAR and hunting.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. J. Kirby Rupp officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.

Mr. Hensley was born in Commiskey Feb. 28, 1931, the son of Henry Hensley Sr., and Amanda Rose Hensley. He married Faye Trapp July 15, 1950.
Survivors include his wife; children, Rhonda (J.B.) Bennett, Terry Hensley and Dale E. Hensley, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Jansen and Kylah Hensley, Tessa Reynolds, Cristin Hensley, Brittney Goodwin and Jamie Bennett, all of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Coleson Reynolds and Addyson Schwartz; sisters, Donna (Gerald) Robertson of Paris Crossing, Avis Manning of Commiskey and Willa Stimac of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorothy Taylor, Lorraine Zeigler, Margie Johnson and Jean Wilbur.

The funeral for Henry "Bud" Hensley Jr., 78, of Road 50W was conducted Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Kirby Rupp officiating. Special music was provided by J.B. Bennett and Vance and Betty Groves.
Burial was at Vernon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jansen and Luther Hensley, J.B. and Jamie Bennett, George Pacek, Lindley Neville and Randy Hill.
Mr. Hensley died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
