Notes - Note on Find a Grave:
John H. Ward served in Co. I, 51st VA Inf. CSA, enlisting 2/28/1863, at age 35 and given disability discharge on 5/6/1863. He had a daughter named Elizabeth Ward born circa 1854-1858. She last appears on the 1900 census with her father and stepmother aged 42. After that she seems to have disappeared.
I wondered if she married late in life or died before 1910.
My Aunt Missouri Anderson Testerman 1899-1993 spoke of her mother's sister Elizabeth Ward riding horses a lot, so it makes me wonder if she did survive after 1900-1910. Does anyone know about her?
The children of John Hash Ward and Evalina Hash:
1. Kennedy "Kenny" Columbus Ward 1849-1916 md. Frances "Frankie" Lane
2. Sheffy Abram Ward 1850-1870 md. Elsie Jane Hash
3. Elizabeth Ward 1854-?
4. Margaret "Peggy" Ann Ward 1856-1856
5. John A. Ward 1857-?
6. Mary Ann Ward 1860-1949 md. Allen Franklin "Frank" Anderson
7. Unnamed Ward 1866-1866
[1] - LKH note:
John H. Ward married a second time to Sarilda James on 20 Dec 1888, in Graydon County, Virginia.
