Notes - Edgar A. Hayes
Edgar A. Hayes, 73, of 616 Lincoln St., Piqua, died Monday at his residence.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Thoma Hayes; five children, John of Columbus, James of New Jersey, Robert of Colorado, William of California and Mary Beth Hayes of Tennessee; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Lucille) Abernethy of California.
He retired in February after 20 years as general manager of Reynelds Screen & Door in St. Paris. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Piqua, Piqua Elks, graduate of Hamilton High School, attended the University of Cincinnati, and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II.
Mass will be offered Thursday 10:30 a.m. at the church with Father Oscar Lauber officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua.
There will be no calling hours. The Melcher Funeral Home, Piqua, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be given to Hospice of Miami County.
