    • Son of Samuel Jones & Celia Creech.

      Husband of Jane Sturgill whom he married about 1815. Jane was the daughter of Francis Sturgill & Rebecca Hash. William & Jane had at least 5 children: Elizabeth (1816), John Isaac (1818), Evalina (1822), Samuel Isaac (1825) & Isaac Hendron (1838) Jones. Jane died on August 14,1848 in Gallia Co., Ohio, and she is buried there in the Sandfork Cemetery. William was married second to Matilda McDaniel Chick on May 11, 1856 in Gallia Co., Ohio. Matilda was the widow of William T. Chick, who had died in 1851. Matilda died on July 25, 1858 and is buried with her first husband in Gallia Co., Ohio. William moved to Gage County Nebraska to join some of his adult children who had moved there, and he died there on September 8, 1859. [1]
