  • Notes
    • Note on Find a Grave:
Weldon Monroe Hash was born in 1866 in Grayson County, Virginia, the son of Zebedee Hash and Frances Hackler. He married his 1st cousin Sarah Ann Hash in 1886 in Grayson County, and they had 10 children. Sarah died in 1914.

Mollie Bates Null married Jacob Theodore Edwards (1888-1914) in 1909 in Smyth County, Virginia, and they had 2 children. Jacob died in 1914, 3 months prior to Sarah Hash's death. Jacob and Sarah are both buried in the same cemetery in Smyth County.

After the deaths of Sarah and Jacob, Weldon and Mollie married and moved to Albemarle County, Virginia and had 7 additional children. Mollie died in 1935 in Albemarle County. Weldon died in 1938 in Albemarle County. At the time of his death, 14 of his 17 children were still living, with 13 referenced in his obituary (daughter Ethel is not mentioned).

For the 1920 census, children from all 3 marriages were living together: Walter, Albert, Mamie, and Leroy from the marriage of Weldon and Sarah; Carl and Jakie from the marriage of Jacob and Mollie; and Earl and Frankie from the marriage of Weldon and Mollie.

The burial marker for son Edgar gives his birth year as 1900, but the birth is 1 Jan 1893 in Edgar's birth record. Son Albert probably died between the 1920 census enumeration and 1938 when he his not referenced as a survivor in Weldon's obituary.
