John A. Ward was born in 1866 in Grayson County, Virginia. In the Grayson County birth records, his name is listed as just Ward. He married Lucy Evelyn Russell in 1887 in Grayson County, and they had 2 daughters. He died in 1893 as recorded in Lucy's 1954 obituary. His burial location is unknown.
John may not have died in Grayson County. A record of his death in 1893 in Grayson County has not been found.
Lucy's name is recorded as Lucinda in the 1921 death certificate for her 2nd husband Wiley Perkins.
Children:
1- Alberta Mae Ward Bacon (1888-1979).
2- Lessie B. Ward (1889- ).
