      Booneville, Ky., May 13. - (Special) - Squire Jere Callahan, aged sixty-five, one of the wealthiest citizens of Owsley county, died last night at his home at the mouth of Indian creek. He was a native of Breathitt county. He enlisted at the opening of the was in Company I, Fourteenth Kentucky Cavalry, and served until he received an honorable discharge in March, 1864. He leaves a wife and four children.
